Scott's Mission

To Scott, domestic violence is not a set of statistics, it is deeply personal. He grew up witnessing the abuse of his mother and during his freshman year at UNC, this abuse culminated in his father shooting his mother and then committing suicide. Domestic violence affects all races, religions, and socioeconomic levels. Scott believes every person has the right to be free from violence and the fear of abuse. His mission is to raise awareness of this pervasive societal issue and to provide domestic violence victims with resources. Scott is equally passionate about eliminating racism and all other forms of oppression. Scott would like to utilize his story as a platform to align himself as an ambassador with various professional anti-violence organizations who share his mission.
